Stephen Harper Abducted by Aliens

At a press conference yesterday Stephen Harper explained how in 2004, the letter (reprinted at the bottom of this page) to the Governor General and co-signed by himself and the other opposition parties of the day, came into existence.

When asked by reporters if he was being hypocritical by accusing the federal Liberal party of seeking a coalition government when this recently surfaced letter clearly demonstrates that he himself attempted to do the same thing 6 years ago, he explained....

"Let me be perfectly clear. I have never supported coalition governments. What happened here was in 2004 I had in fact been abducted by aliens, and it was the aliens who wrote that letter not me. It is those same socialist aliens who are now plotting with the Liberal party to overthrow this government, which makes it all the more urgent that you elect me back as your Prime Minister, so that I can use our new F-35 fighter jets to deal with this alien menace once and for all."

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson,
C.C., C.M.M., C.O.M., C.D.
Governor General
Rideau Hall
1 Sussex Drive
Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0A1

Excellency,

As leaders of the opposition parties, we are well aware that, given the Liberal minority government, you could be asked by the Prime Minister todissolve the 38th Parliament at any time should the House of Commons fail to support some part of the government’s program.

We respectfully point out that the opposition parties, who together constitute a majority in the House, have been in close consultation. We believe that, should a request for dissolution arise this should give you cause, as constitutional practice has determined, to consult the opposition leaders and consider all of your options before exercising your constitutional authority.

Your attention to this matter is appreciated.

Sincerely,

Hon. Stephen Harper, P.C., M.P.
Leader of the Opposition
Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada

Gilles Duceppe, M.P.
Leader of the Bloc Quebecois

Jack Layton, M.P.
Leader of the New Democratic Party
