Members of Parliament are missing House votes

The Globe and Mail newspaper today is reporting that "Too many MPs are skipping Parliament."

Indeed a great many MPs are not showing up to vote on key legislation which has been put forward by The Harper Government, and most of them are on the opposition benches.

As you are aware we are living in a minority government situation and The Harper Government is proud to say that we have provided the longest and most stable government in the history of Canada, that has had to work under these conditions.

We are grateful to the honourable opposition who have withdrawn so many of their MPs from Parliament therefore allowing our legislation to pass unhindered. It is very much due to their strong action in performing these inactions that we have been able to pass all the legislation we have. We hope that with their continued support we may in the future be able to pass as much legislation as a truly functional government would be expected too.
